Basically - Receptive language is how you process the information you receive.

This is how you understand vocabulary (idioms, multiple meaning words, synonyms, antonyms, morpheme use), meaning, tone used in a message, and nonverbal language.

Do you understand the questions asked?

Do you understand directions regularly?

Do you have a difficult time understanding what is being read?

Do you need extra repetitions, not brought on by a hearing difficulty?
